White-label casinos explained
When you open a casino’s licence page on the Gambling Commission register, every domain carries a status. One of them is White Label. This guide explains what that tells you.
What it means
A white-label brand is run under a licensee’s licence in a partnership. The licensee provides the licence, platform and compliance framework, and the partner runs the brand. On the register the licensee is the entry that holds the licence, so that is the party the Commission can act against.
Why it matters for you
- Who is accountable. For a white-label domain, check the licensee’s record: their regulatory actions apply to every brand on the licence.
- Shared terms. Sister brands on the same platform often have very similar terms and games. Choosing between them is a matter of taste, not of safety.
- Customer service. Complaints normally go first to the brand, then to the licensee and the dispute resolution service named in the terms.
- Brand moves. A brand can move from one licensee to another. Check the footer and the register each time.
An example from our reviews
A single licensee may host a very large number of brands. For instance, the register entry for Jumpman Gaming Limited lists well over two hundred domains, most of them White Label or Inactive. That scale is why we always show the licensee next to the brand. See our licence checks page.
How to check
- Find the licensee name and account number in the footer.
- Search the number on the public register.
- Open Domain names and find the site.
- Read the status and the licensee’s Regulatory actions.

Frequently asked questions
Is a white-label casino legal in the UK?
White-label arrangements are a recognised way to run a brand under a licensee's licence. The licensee remains accountable to the Gambling Commission. Always confirm the licensee on the public register.
Are white-label casinos less safe?
Not by definition. It means the brand is run through a partnership, so you should look at the licensee's record and the brand's own terms.
How do I tell if a brand is white label?
Open the licensee's domain-name list on the Gambling Commission register. The domain's status will be Active, Inactive or White Label.
